sophie's world |
...a chronicle of our pregnancy and new daughter |
2.24.2010
slowly, but surely sophie is definitely starting to get better. finally. monday night she slept straight through for the first time since she'd been sick (every other night had her up with a fever spike or throwing up - usually both - at least once. on bad nights, it was every couple of hours) and that was a nice rest for everyone. she woke up with much more energy yesterday morning and was even up playing on the floor with ben a little bit. she's started eating again, too. she tires easily and still spent a good part of the day on the couch, but she was so much more like herself. this morning, i had intended on keeping her home from school - hoping she'd be feeling well enough to by friday. but sophie asked to go. she was up and about with more energy than yesterday, so i agreed that she could try it. i made sure she knew that i would come get her if she wasn't feeling well enough to stay, but she made it through the three hours happily. ms. laurie said she was a little sluggish and preferred to stay sitting at the tables most of the time, but she told her she was glad she came. she had even planned to try going to ballet class this afternoon, but that proved a little too much. she fell asleep soon after lunch and woke up right about the time she would have needed to get ready for dance... but she was still tired and said she would rather sleep some more. that was fine with me - there's no reason for her to push herself. hopefully the extra rest this afternoon will have her feeling even better tomorrow. it's SO great to see her getting back to normal!
