...a chronicle of our pregnancy and new daughter |

Christmas fun It is currently two days after Christmas, and we are in our second day of staying home in our PJs all day and playing. This has been a really fun holiday season so far. On Christmas Eve we opened up a few presents in the morning, had an early lunch/nap (for Ben), and then had a nice visit with my parents. After that we had dinner at Aimee's mom's house. The kids were extremely high energy (shocker), but were not too bad. We got home late, and got them right up to bed to get some sleep before Santa came. Aimee and I were awake very early. We had a busy day planned so we got up and showered before the kids woke up. After getting the kids up and seeing what Santa brought, we finished opening gifts and left for breakfast at Aimee's mom's and finished opening presents there. Breakfast was delicious. Thank you, Nanner, for the quiche. After breakfast, we packed the kids back in the car and drove to Aimee's dad's house for more fun, presents, and dinner. We had an awful lot of fun visiting with everyone. The kids really enjoyed playing with their cousin Rigel. After dinner, we said farewell to everyone and headed home. We got home past bedtime, but decided to let the kids stay up for one Christmas movie (Frosty) while they played with some of their new toys. Since we were so busy the previous two days, we decided to spend the rest of the weekend at home just relaxing and playing together. It has been really fun so far with surprisingly few arguments between the kids. Yesterday we played with Ben's Geotrax, tried out our two new Wii games, and played Twister. The kids spent some time hiding in the closet with a cool glow in the dark drawing station Ben got from Nana. Sophia made herself and Benjamin some cupcakes for breakfast with her new cupcake maker, and then for a snack later in the day she made us some sugar cookies with her new Easy Bake Oven. Today it has been back to Geotrax and the Wii games (especially the new racing game). Sophia is proving to be quite the fashion designer using a toy from Grandpa and Gigi. The next project Sophie wants to tackle is making some new bead jewelry. Hopefully tempers stay under control and we can have a fun afternoon as well.
