...a chronicle of our pregnancy and new daughter |
11.03.2009
halloween! we had a pretty hectic halloween, but it was a ton of fun. it actually started the night before when we went with our neighbor and her daughters to the local elementary school for a "halloween stroll" of trick-or-treating through the gym at different decorated stations with parents and kids in full costumes handing out the candy. it was really cute and the kids loved seeing all the other children dressed up. sophie even ran into a few friends from preschool, as well as her teacher who was there passing out candy. it was a really nice way to kick off our halloween. halloween morning we had sophie's soccer games, then we went back home to change and do a little visiting with the grandparents. we went to grammy's first, then nana's, then great grammy's... then we even made an unscheduled stop in portland to visit brianna at work. everyone had wonderful treats for the kiddos, and they were so excited to show off their costumes to everyone. by the time we got home, it was nearly time to head out into the neighborhood. we picked up a little bit, emptied out the treat bags, and let the kids rest for a short while - then the neighbors stopped by to see if we wanted to head out with them. we only stayed out for five or six houses, but that was plenty. the kids really wanted to get back to pass candy out to people at our house. unfortunately there was some rain in the evening and we didn't get a ton of people, but they still enjoyed the ones that did come.
