halloween party

sophie had a little halloween party at school today. the kiddos were invited to wear their costumes, but sophie's was a little difficult for her to get on and off by herself and i thought that might pose a problem for her at school - so she decided to choose something different from her box of dress up costumes. she picked a doctor. we had everything, including all of the accessories, except pants - so for about $1.00's worth of fabric i made her some and we had an entire second costume ready to go!

she looked adorable and was so excited to celebrate with her friends at school. every child brought in enough little treats for everyone in class, and they filled up bags that they had made there at school. sophie put a lot of thought and care into the little treat bags that we made - they each had two tiny halloween themed erasers, a spooky sticker, and one small lollipop. she carefully counted out all of the items and assembled the bags, even making tiny sticker seals to close the bags with. she had a great day at school and came home with some nice treats.

my favorite part of the whole thing, though? while ben was taking his afternoon nap, sophie asked me if she could make a craft project for him - a card and a little paper bowl to put one of her pieces of candy in for him to have when he woke up. she is just so thoughtful and willing to share with her brother.
