amazing!
adam and i went to our ultrasound appointment yesterday, and it was totally incredible. we got to see our little baby (which looks a lot more like a shelled peanut than a baby right now, lol) and the itty bitty beating heart!
it totally took my breath away.
the technician took a bunch of measurements... the baby measured at 6 wks, 5 days which was two days off from our dates, but dr. wilkis explained the a couple of days discrepency either way is totally normal. the tech also measured the heart rate, which was 125 beats per minute. i also asked the doctor about this, because it seemed a little slow to me. he explained that the rate is slower early in pregnancy; its not until 8 or 9 weeks that the rate gets up into the 140-150 bpm range. so that made me feel better, too.
and some other really cool news is that we get to go back for another ultrasound in two weeks! dr. wilkis explained that it is his policy for patients who have been on fertility meds to double check the growth and development... so we get to see our little bean again in just two weeks!
